PU Doming & 3D Emblems
PU doming dispenses a precisely measured bead of clear polyurethane over a printed, die-cut label. Surface tension pulls it into a perfect lens — a glass-like, three-dimensional emblem that resists UV, scratches and chemicals.
How it works
Print & die-cut
The base graphic is screen or digitally printed on premium vinyl or polyester, then die-cut to the emblem shape.
Dosing
Automated doming units dispense a measured volume of two-part polyurethane onto each piece.
Self-levelling
Surface tension forms the characteristic domed lens, edge to edge, with no overflow.
Curing
Controlled curing hardens the dome into a flexible, UV-stable, self-healing surface ready for adhesive backing.
Why it matters for your product
A domed emblem reads as premium the instant it is touched — which is why appliance, automotive and two-wheeler brands use PU domes for logos and model badges. The lens magnifies the print beneath while protecting it for years outdoors.
Frequently asked questions
What is a PU dome?
A printed emblem covered with a clear polyurethane lens that adds depth, gloss and long-term protection against UV, scratches and chemicals.
Where are PU domes used?
Vehicle and appliance logos, model badges, control-panel emblems, promotional badges — anywhere a premium 3D brand mark is needed.
What shapes and sizes are possible?
Almost any die-cut shape from a few millimetres to large emblems; sharp internal corners are the only limitation of the self-levelling process.
How long do they last outdoors?
With UV-stable polyurethane and quality base printing, domed emblems retain clarity and gloss for years in exterior automotive use.
